LoadRunner 12.02 Web Protocol recording Extras

Jump to solution

When we record LoadRunner 12.02 Web Protocol it is recording Extras. Is it the best practice to comment/delete the Extras and work with scripts? Whats the best practice with respect to EXTRAS? Does it impact the performance of the Load Test?

Thanks,

Venkata Appineni

Hello Venkata,

EXTRARES is used to download resources that are downloaded by non-HTML elements

EXTRARES is used in an HTML mode Web script to specify any resources (images or scripts) that need to be downloaded for the webpage. This option is included when resources are downloaded by JavaScript, Activex, or applets in the page and might not be downloaded during replay. These non-HTML elements usually contain or retrieve their own resources. For example, a javascript js file, called from the recorded web page, may load several images. An applet may load an external text file.

If these resources do not need to be recorded, select on Recording Options-> Recording -> HTML Advanced -> Non-HTML generated elements.
