Loadrunner 12.53 Symantec Recording Error

Greetings Vugen gurus.  Not having any luck recording a Loadrunner Vugen 12..53 Http/Web protocol script against firefox with Symantec End Point protection running.  In Symantec I have added > Change Settings > Exceptions > Configure Settings >  User defined excepiton > " Virtual user Generator.lnk"  Exception Type: DNS HOST FILE CHANGE = Ignore.

 When recording an approved site such as amazon.com,  capture a a few clicks: Vugen records:

vuser_init()
{

    web_custom_request("ss.symcd.com",
        "URL=http://ss.symcd.com/",
        "Method=POST",
        "Resource=0",
        "RecContentType=application/ocsp-response",
        "Referer=",
        "Snapshot=t20.inf",
        "Mode=HTML",
        "EncType=application/ocsp-request",
        "BodyBinary=0Q0O0M0K0I0\t\\x06\\x05+\\x0E\\x03\\x02\\x1A\\x05\\x00\\x04\\x14\\xD1\\xB1d\\x8B\\x8C\\x9F\r\\xD1k\\xA3\\x8A\\xCD+P\\x17\\xD5\\xF9\\xCF\\xC0d\\x04\\x14_`\\xCFa\\x90U\\xDF\\x84C\\x14\\x8A`*\\xB2\\xF5z\\xF4C\\x18\\xEF\\x02\\x10f\\xA5B\\xDB\\xE4F\\xB6\\xF8\\xF8\\xD8$w\\xDCk+v",
        LAST);

    web_custom_request("ss.symcd.com_2",
        "URL=http://ss.symcd.com/",
        "Method=POST",
        "Resource=0",
        "RecContentType=application/ocsp-response",
        "Referer=",
        "Snapshot=t21.inf",
        "Mode=HTML",
        "EncType=application/ocsp-request",
        "BodyBinary=0Q0O0M0K0I0\t\\x06\\x05+\\x0E\\x03\\x02\\x1A\\x05\\x00\\x04\\x14\\xD1\\xB1d\\x8B\\x8C\\x9F\r\\xD1k\\xA3\\x8A\\xCD+P\\x17\\xD5\\xF9\\xCF\\xC0d\\x04\\x14_`\\xCFa\\x90U\\xDF\\x84C\\x14\\x8A`*\\xB2\\xF5z\\xF4C\\x18\\xEF\\x02\\x10?\\x00g\\xA8\\xD19\\xA4\\xC5h\\xA6\\xAA\\x1D\"\\x8Bw\\xE6",
        LAST);

    return 0;
}

Can someone provide insight on what other LR processes or settings must be added so that Vugen records actual browser code app code.  I cannot disable Symantec. Thank you.   GO DUKE

Re: Loadrunner 12.53 Symantec Recording Error

Hello a_catalano

Thank you for your post. In order to work with LR properly, you need to add all the exceptions in the antivirus from the files that LoadRunner use.

  1. Full access (read/write permissions) to registry keys under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mercury Interactive

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\engines\text

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Microsoft\\Jet

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI

  1. Full access (read/write permissions) to the file system (%LR_PATH%) to be able to copy files.
  2. Read/Write access to system TEMP folder (%TEMP% or %TMP% directory)
  3. Read/Write access to windows installation directory (%windir% directory).

Re: Loadrunner 12.53 Symantec Recording Error

Hola.  Would the following code be related to Symantec or certificate related. Vugen still does not record any actions after adding the requested exceptions to Symantec that you recommended. Go Duke.

web_custom_request("ocsp.verisign.com",
        "URL=http://ocsp.verisign.com/",

        "Referer=",
        "Snapshot=t95.inf",
        "Mode=HTML",
        "EncType=application/ocsp-request",
        "BodyBinary=0Q0O0M0K0I0\t\\x06\\x05+\\x0E\\x03\\x02\\x1A\\x05\\x00\\x04\\x14\\x0C\\x81)8t\\xB2\\x96)\\x10~\\xD85bRd\\x04S\r\\xE0\\x83\\x04\\x14\rD\\\\\\x16SD\\xC1\\x82~\\x1D \\xAB%\\xF4\\x01c\\xD8\\xBEy\\xA5\\x02\\x103]\\xB9\\xBF\\x9A\\xFDy\\x99\\xF8\\xFDu\\xB6n\\xEC\\xF8\\x97",
