Loadrunner 12.56 Controller Conflict with Symantec Data Loss Prevention Software

I have a system running Windows 10 Build 1703 with KB4092077 Cumulatative Upated for 64 bit systems installed. I received no errors during the FULL installation of the Loadrunner 12.56 software. Prior to the installation of the Loadrunner software, my company's IT department also installed the Symantec Data Loss Prevention software on my system. Note the Symantec DLP software is security-related software that checks the OUTBOUND network traffic for the inclusion of sensitive data such as a social security number.

However, when I restarted the system and launched the Controller software, the Controller software would CRASH in just a few seconds without even displaying its main window.

I then turned off the Symantec DLP software that was running on that system and the Controller software was launched successfully and all functions of the Controller were working as expected.

Has anyone else experienced a similar major conflict between the Loadrunner 12.56 Controller software and the Symantec DLP?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Loadrunner 12.56 Controller Conflict with Symantec Data Loss Prevention Soft

Hello,

Can you please ask your system/security administrator to exclude LoadRunner processes from being monitored by Symantec DLP?  It is a common practice to exclude processes that are considered to be trusted. See this post as a reference: https://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/exclude-application-activity-dlp-monitoring

Regards,

Shlomi
