Measuring Memory and CPU usage

Jump to solution

Hello all,

I need some help measuring the CPU and Memory using Truclient scripts on LoadRunner.  I have already generated multiple scripts for different tasks people usually do on the website I’m testing.  I am able to run a scenario with those scripts.  I can also collect data from the box that is running the website.  My question is how do I determine how much CPU and memory am I using on that machine? I have read some comments about looking at the process time % and private bytes however these numbers don’t make sense every time I run the scenario with less or more vusers they give me different numbers.

Which graphs should I look at in order to determine how much memory and CPU needed if we increase the number on the website users.

My goal is to generate a formula that takes the number of possible users and give an output of how much memory and CPU needed to accomplish that number of users. I do understand this formula will have a margin of error due to the user activity on the webpage.

Thank you guys

I hope you followed these instructions. You are right, if you run with 1 vuser, CPU and Memory may clock less than 'n' vusers.

Please check https://www.perftractor.xyz/calc.html for the formula which uses memory as a vital parameter.

Here is the excel snapshot https://cl.ly/q4NF and here is the snapshot which has the formula https://cl.ly/q3eA
