Performance Center + Jenkins + Data injection

HP Support, I am reaching out for help on an issue we are facing in our organization, currently we have a LR scenario setup in a jenkins server thru Performance Center 11.5 plugin, is it possible to pass a parameter to the script file so it gets updated with a new value everytime the job is run?” The Jenkins job currently doesn’t allow for this using the options available, one workaround was to create a file that would rewrite the .dat file from the script with the string we need however its not the best way to do so, would the REST API provide such functionality? If so, how to accomplish? Can we use the additional attributes tab?

Re: Performance Center + Jenkins + Data injection

Hello CarlosLADP

Thank you for your post.

The plugin for the Jenkins integration provides a mechanism for executing scenarios as part of a build script; this plugin allows you to trigger an HP test as build step and present the results in the Jenkins interface.

In other words, this integration is in order to automatized test runs.

A valid solution that you can try on this is to create a VTS table, and in the script you can choose the new value of the table and then move it into another table or you can erase the one that you already used. So you can be sure that in the next run, the value is a new one.

Hope this helps.
