TruClient - develop script - firefox 3.6.3 - Plugins missing.

Jump to solution

Hi,

I'm trying to record an application using Truclient protocol.

1) I opened C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Virtual User Generator\bin\firefox\firefox browser and can see that my application is working fine there (with ff 3.6.3) and required plugins are there. then closed the browser

2) I went to Vugen > TruClient > develop script > firefox 3.6.3 > Few frames in my applications are showing an error saying 'The Java plug-in is not installed. The required version: 1.6.0_07' > then I went to VuGen > Tools > TruClient general client settings > Extensions and can see that required Plugins missing.

I tried to copy plugin and extesions dll files form newerversion of ff to this vugen ff folders (may be not best practice), but it didn't work.

Please let me know how can I install plugins in this case.

Thanks

Bapu,

May i know the reason for enabling the Java plugin. Is it for the applets? As you aware, TruClient doesn't support recording activities of the Java applets.(similarly Flash etc.)

If the Applet communicates with the server then probably it uses some Java protocol, and i would suggest to use the relevent Java protocol of VuGen.

Bapu,
LoadRunner launches Firefox in a temporary profile every time a script is opened for development.
To make plug-ins and bookmarks available across all these profiles please use the global profile settings.

Open VuGen
• Open an Ajax TruClient script
• Go to Tools > Ajax TruClient Browser Options…
• In the dialog that opens (“Ajax TruClient Browser Configuration”) use the the Extensions and Bookmarks tabs to define global plug-ins and bookmarks respectively.

NOTE: The Plug-ins and Themes buttons that appear in the standard FireFox Extensions dialog are disabled in the TruClient Firefox Extensions tab.
Thanks

Hi Arjun,

In my LR11, I don't see any option with the name 'Ajax TruClient Browser Configuration'. I can see only 'TruClient General Settings'.

In TrueClient General Settings window, I don't see any option to install/add/import plugins. Attached a screenshot the same.

Please suggest me in this regard.

Thanks,

Bapu

It is the same window where you can install the addons. Just search for which addin you want and install it. It needs internet connection to search for it.

Hi Madan,

Thanks for looking in to it. Somehow the ff 3.6.3 that came with truclient is not java enabled and I need to enable java and install java plugins (my application is looking for those java plugins). I tried to search those plugins from get addons, also tried to enable java in java control panel. But no luck.

Please suggest me how to move forward in this regard.

Thanks,

Bapu

Hi Madan,

I am having the same type of problem as bapu. I just install LR and am trying to record any URL using True Client but it said connection time out. When I checked the extension I see LR 11.0 but there was no addins. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
