TruClient encrypt decrypt use case

we wish to have passwords in the paramater file encrypted and then be able to decrypt them in the TruClient script

1/ please advise on how to get them encrypted into the paramater file, how to do this with a prompt for known password (control mechanism) and then allow user to type in password that would then get encrypted and stored in paramater file (perhaps a truclient script just to do this). I could not find a reference for a function for encrypt.

2/ please advise the correct call from truclient JS to decrypt, LR.decrypt (string)

Hi,

1. You should use the password encryption tool to encrypt the values saved in the parameter dialog/file. Just like you do it in other protocols. The encryption tool is available from LoadRunner program menu in Windows Start menu

2. In the script you should use a code similar to this one...

var myParamValue = LR.decrypt(LR.getParam("myParamName"));

Good Luck

i need to know what your encryption algo is because

we need to create a program protected by password access.

we have to pass audit control

or alternatively will your exe accept command line options for input and output strings?

There's a PasswordEncoderConsole.exe in LR's bin folder. It works in command line mode and can encrypt password.
