VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi,

A new Protocol Teradici-PCOIP protocol has been added to new loadrunner version-

Will this protocol also support an application which uses VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP protocol or it will only support Teradici-PCOIP only.

Thanks,

Kartik

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hello,

Currently this protocol supports only Teradici software, but support for VMware Horizon is being actively developed, planned for the next major release.

Thanks, Yuriy.

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi all, @AvniLior , @Yuriy_Pavlovsky

I am trying to work with HP Loadrunner 12.55 PCoIP with VMware Horizon client but Loadrunner is not recognizing the VMWare client at all.

Has anyone worked on this? Please suggest.

Thanks,

Kavitha

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi Kavitha,

Please make sure you are using pcoip_client.exe provided with LoadRunner (under <LR install>\bin\pcoip).

In addition, can you specify which VMware client version you are using? Do you use VMware Horizon virtual desktops or Application solution?

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Thanks for the reply @Dikla

Yes, we do have pcoip_client.exe provided with LoadRunner 12.55.

We are using VMware Horizon client version 4.1.0 through which the RDSH application is accessed. This application is what we need to test. Loadrunner is not even recognizing the VMware Horizon window. Please suggest.

Thanks, Kavitha

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi,

Did you try recording using pcoip_client.exe which is provided with LoadRunner?

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi @Shlomi Nissim

We did try using pcoip_client.exe. It starts recording but RDS hosted applications are not displayed when I tried to connect to the server using Teradici PCoIP Desktop Client. I did contact Teradici as well, they say that since it is VMware environment, connecting VMware view to Teradici Client is not a supported confirguration.

So we need to work with VMware Horizon client. Are we missing something here? Please comment.

Thanks, Kavitha

Re: VMware Horizon Client - PCOIP Protoco;

Hi Kavitha,

You got it right.

Unfortunately, our client does not support hosted applications at the moment we only display Desktop pools..

We will prioritize addressing that in the future.

Shlomi
