Web HTTP-HTML: doubt about think time

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I have a doubt about think time in a Web HTTP-HTML script: if there is a think_time() function inside the Action() but external to the transaction's functions...this delay will have consequences on the response time?

And if I set a limit on the think time on the Controller? Do you think that this option will had some effects on results or maybe it is negligible?

Thanks for any type of suggestion about this topic. Below I copy the web service with the think_time() function.

Lorenzo

--------------------------------------------------

Action()
{
    lr_start_transaction("Step_X");

    web_custom_request("RequestName",
        "URL=http://...",
        "Method=POST",
       ...
        "Body=...",
        LAST);

        lr_end_transaction("Step_X",LR_PASS);

    lr_think_time(3);

    return 0;
}

Re: Web HTTP-HTML: doubt about think time

 Hi all,

I made some tests on my issue and I find a response about it: with the script presented on previous message, we have this situation on the report with a filter on think time ("not include Think Time"),

thinkTime_excluded.PNG

and we have this other one without the filter ("include Think Time"),

thinkTime_included.PNG

So the final consideration can be that if the think time is not included on the transaction's functions, it will not counted on results data. In this case, the delay is only on the "external" step (which is empty, contains no actions).

Thanks for collaboration,

Lorenzo
