add setting to About:config forTruClient FireFox in LR 12.53

We are moving to LR 12.53 from LR 12.02 and find that some FireFox about:config settings are no longer visible.  This is preventing us from recording and/or converting scripts for some secure applications.

Is there a way to add a setting to the available about:config list?

Thanks.

Re: add setting to About:config forTruClient FireFox in LR 12.53

Hi,

Can you please be more specific about the change you wish to do?

12.53 introduces a much easier approach for modifying browser settings and saving the change in the script level so it can be applied in the Load Generator later on. Check Modify preferences section in this help page

Re: add setting to About:config forTruClient FireFox in LR 12.53

Hi Shlomi,

We were using “network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1” in 12.02.  It is not visible to us in 12.53.  If there’s a way to add it into a configuration file, that would be helpful.

Thanks very much for your help.

Re: add setting to About:config forTruClient FireFox in LR 12.53

Hi,

Firefox has hundreds if not thousands of settings. Not all of them are exposed in about:config window. about:config interface allows adding new items,

 You can either

Add the new setting from about:config window while working in interactive mode and save the script. just make sure you choose the right type

Or

Modify another settings to get the file user_modified_perfs.json to be generated and then add this setting to it with appropriate value in appropriate format

Or

Add this setting to user.js file in all copies in the script and see if it helps

There is also a chance that Firefox stopped supporting this setting in Firefox 40.0.3 which is delivered with 12.53. In that case you will need to find an alternate setting.  Contact our support team in case needed.

Regards,

Shlomi
