(LR) Support Tip: Event Handlers for Dialogs in TruClient

Event handlers manage events that can occur at any time during the run of the script. In LoadRunner 12.50 we now have the ability to set event handlers for dialog windows

How to use them:

  • Add a new event handler using the left pane
  • Configure the settings - check or uncheck “Execute only once”, “Allow other handlers to interrupt” and “Event can be triggered during the entire script”
  • If the “Event can be triggered during the entire script” is not set, you can select a start and end step from which point the event handler can be triggered
  • Select the “Dialog” type
  • The event type will be set to “Dialog opened”
  • Choose the library and function that will be executed when a dialog opens during replay
  • The function that deals with a dialog event usually supplies the details necessary to close the dialog
