Hi,

Please make sure that the new machine has OS is supported by LR 11.52 (please check PAM document) then you only need to disable UAC, DEP, firewall and antivirus in the new machine before installing LR.

The patch LRVUG_00033.exe is Vugen SA Service Pack 11.52. If you install full LoadRunner so you should you this patch:

In order to have the latest and greatest of 11.5x, you need to install the following:

You may also want to consider upgrading your LoadRunner to latest release - 12.01. Although please note that 12.0x no longer supports Windows XP.

As far as Standalone VuGen installation is concerned,

Points to remember

Need to disable UAC, DEP, firewall and antivirus in the new machine before installing LR.

Steps to be carried out

1) Install Vugen SA 11.5

2) Apply patch LRVUG_00033.exe

Is that fine??

Or do i need to go with below steps

•LR (or only VuGen) 11.50
•11.52/SP2 - service pack 2 on top of 11.50, installed on top of 11.50 or 11.51
•11.52/SP2 Patch 1 - patch on top of 11.52/SP2, installed on top of 11.52

Please clarify.

We are planning a deployment of LoadRunner products within a virtualized environment, what things should be considered?

I mean the other components: Controller, LG.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Moving VuGen from One Virtual machine to Desktop

I don't know your load profile for testing, but when moving to desktop for load generators, one thing to watch is local resource utilization. Desktop hardware does not handle in the same manner as server class hardware. I would keep an eye on CPU activity while load is running, with special attention to processor queue length. You do not want to be inadvertently throttling back your test because the client machine is unable to apply the desired load on the AUT server.

Also, since XP is past end-of-life and not supported by many newer software installs, it would be advisable on many levels to consider going with at least Windows7.
