2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

Our Upgrade failed from 2.7.2 to either 2.7.3 oder 2.7.4,

the problem is the database Collation (SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS),
We allready unsinstalled SQL express and reinstalled wirth the collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS but transorming the MDM database to the the collation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS did not worked, so how can we proceed ?

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

Meanwhile we opened a SR

Just to sure, initial Setup was ZMM 2.55 updating to 2.7.2 works without any problems bu when trying to apply update 2.7.3 the update beaks an follwing error is shown:

"..Cannot resolve th collation
conflict between "Latin1_General_CI_AS" ans "SQL_LATIN1_General_CP1_CI_AS" in
the like operation
Msg 468, Level 16, State 9, Server ZMM\MOBILEMANAGEMENT, Procedure spCheckeDeviceStatisticsComp, Line 282
[Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot resolve the collation
conflict between "LAtin1_General_CI_AS" and SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_Ci_AS" in
the like operation"

When digging through the froum i found at least two threads ragrding collation problems, so my guess ist, that the inital 2.55 setup came with a different collation.

anyone else comming from 2.5.5 with update problems to >=2.7.3 ?

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

We also have the same problem when trying to update 2.7.2 to 2.7.3
Is there a solution for this problem?
Error:
"Latin1_General_CI_AS" and "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

Our collation problem was today solved by Novell.
They provided us an an ChangeMDMCollation.exe and some base scripts, this exe file generates scripts wich transforms the whole database to the "new" collation, our database is small so the whole procedure took only a few minutes.
But keep in mind ONLY the MDM Database is transformed not the general SQL-Server Collation, so every new database will get by default the Server Collation.
There is also a new TID7012801 but here is only the error reported not the solution.

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

Where do i find this ChangeMDMCollation.exe file from novell? My school running an MDM Server which has the same issues as many people have said here. A link would be greatly appreciated.

You have to open a SR to get it, it will not cost anything as far as I know.

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

This known issue has been fixed in 2.7.6, along with the addition of Compliance Management Black and Whitelisting. No SR or cost required. If any issues with the collation are experienced after updating to minimum version 2.7.6, please contact your Novell representative immediately for NTS involvement.-Bryce Romney, ZMM PM

Re: 2.7.3 / 2.7.4 update error collation

If your already on 2.7.2 you cannot get to 2.7.6 without doing the collation fix for 2.7.3/4 first, as the update goes through each update to arrive at 2.7.8.

At least that is what happened on the system I was having issues with.
