Idea ID 2818285
Currently the custom poller engine rejects any OID suffix having a length greater than 255 characters. This seems to be hardcoded limitation, that prevents polling of some large private vendor OIDs.
One example could be given for below OID from BIG-IP
Sometimes, its suffix can reach huge number, and below exception is reported while custom poll instance discovery is running:
2020-05-13 19:23:35.980 WARNING [com.hp.ov.nms.custompoller.instancediscovery.CustomInstanceHandler] (Thread-194) Skipping suffix .188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.188.8.131.52.184.108.40.20653 as it is greater then MIB_SUFFIX_SIZE 255
In continuation of our conversation with NNMi CPE team, i am submitting this in order to be picked up for development.
