NA ping allow source interface

NA ping allow source interface

The NA ICMP ping web comamnd and API command have no concept of issuing the ping using a source interface. Most switch/router vendor allow parameters to be passed to the ping command to use a source interface for the ping packet, and is the only way to prove a ping works going a certain interface. This could be accomplished by adding additional parameters to the ICMP ping task, or perhaps a -parm "<freeform>" to supply all needed options.

Dear Submitter,

Thanks for the feedback.

While we can consider this for the future, can you try doing this using a parameterized Change Plan?

AkashDeep,

Thank you for the suggestion, but we keep tasks for 365 days, and run multiple pings every 10 minutes. Currently ping is a diagnostic, and we purge diagnostics at 45 days. If this was a change plan, could introduce lots of unneeded tasks stored to the database because our purge is 365 days.

If there was a way to do a purge of this particular change plan by name for a more reasonable time , then I think a change plan would work very well.
