Show Interface status as Major if Interface utilization threshold breaches

Dear All

When we set threshold for Interface In or Out utilization of particular Interface in monitoring configuration and if threshold breaches we need the status of Interface to be changed to Major.

Dear Submitter,

The default behavior today is to generate a CRITICAL incident for threshold violation on  Interface Utilization (In or Out) and that results in interface status to be Major.

So, what you are asking for is the default behavior of the product? Can you please clarify as what is the issue?

Yes we see critical incident and status of Interface is shown as Major.

In Layer 2 connectivity map we see the interface status is shown as Major but the link connecting them still shows normal.

Can this be enhanced based on threshold configured on below Interface aspects,

Utilization
Discard rate
Error rate
Queue drop rate
FCS LAN / WLAN error rates

Please clarify what is Micro Focus suggestion on threshold values on

Discard rate
Error rate
Queue drop rate
FCS error rates

Hi Ramesh,

Links status is fault driven and not performance-driven. And hence it is impacted by threshold violations on Interface and remains Normal.

You should be able to arrive at the threshold value for metrics based on the severity of node/ interface, tolerance to errors, etc. You should also be able to look at trend data and decide on threshold values.
