Configuring NNM with Oracle as a Remote Database

Hi all

I'm trying to configure NNM with Oracle as a Remote Database on two separate Solaris 8 platforms.

The actual install of NNM and Oracle on the respective systems is no problem, but getting the two to talk is presenting me with some problems.

I've read a number of white papers and other documents that refer to doing this with a NT/Unix pair, but nothing about Unix/Unix.

As far as I can tell my specific problem is that I need to setup an ODBC type driver on the Manager machine so the Oracle client can talk to the Remote database.

Again, for an NT platform this is straight forward, but I cant find anything anywhere on doing this for Unix.

Can anyone help?

I never tried this solution, but I think you must install an Oracle Client on the manager (NNM).
You configure tnsnames.ora on the manager to connect to a listener.ora on the database server.
