Creating EIGRP neighbor down alarm.

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how I can create an EIGRP neighbor down alarm for Cisco devices. I don't see an option for that in the incidents configuration. I did an snmpwalk search on the devices in which I'd like to monitor this alarm, but when going through the MIBs I can't seem to find one for EIGRP Neighbors.

Anyone might know how I can create this incident in the incident configurations. I wanted to create some custom alarms for emailing alerts to my team.

Thanks.

Re: Creating EIGRP neighbor down alarm.

Thats one of the problems with the simpler routing protocols, limited SNMP notification of events.  The Cisco EIGRP mib only has two notifications cEigrpAuthFailureEvent  and cEigrpRouteStuckInActive . The best you could do is custom poll the EIGRP peer table and filter for the entry (ies) you need to have to be sucessfully routing.

Have a nice day 🙂
