Custom Poller - Text based threshold value

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm using Custom Poller to retrieve some values that are text based like "NoAlarm" or "NetworkOutOfRange".

Does anyone have any suggestion on how I could set up a threshold based on text? For Example, if the value of an OID changes to "NetworkOutOfRange", then NNMi should generate a major incident.

Thanks.

Hi Abdullah

Instead of threshold values you can setup "Comparison Maps"

Set an order, the value you want to compare and the status.

For example:

Order: 10

Comparison Operator: =

Comparison Value: NetworkOutOfRange

State Mapping: Major

Note: You may have to use wildcarding at the Comparison Value level to match a substring.

Add another set for the 'normal' state mapping and don't forget to check the checkbox to generate an incident and optionally affect the node status.

Hope this helps
