HP NPS Files are pending and not processing

Hi All,

We are using HP NNMi 10.00.701 and HP NPS.

We have got around 2126 files pending to be processed in NPS. A service is also dead. We have tried restarting the services, restarting the server, but the service isn't coming up.

INFO: DEAD? - Interface_Health (Last Heartbeat was 58 minutes ago) -
INFO: - Last Status: Starting to build the topology cache from the database.
INFO: - Status time: Wed Dec 6 04:50:13 2017
INFO: - Start time: Wed Dec 6 04:50:10 2017

We also ran dbsize.ovpl and got this output:

DBSPACE Usage Summary for Database: "DSN=PerfSPIDSN"
=====================
DbSpace                   Size       Res      Used(%)
IQ_SYSTEM_MAIN   5.83G    32G      21
IQ_SYSTEM_TEMP  648G    0B        1
USER_MAIN             604G    50.5G   31
INFO: Done.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: HP NPS Files are pending and not processing

Hi,

do you mean files are pending in "final" folders?  How file systems  utilisation looks like?   Do you see some ETL or processing errors in prspi.log ?
It could be that one or  few oldest files in "final" are corrupted and ETL can't process it.  Try to delete oldest file or few files and restart NPS ETL processes.

regards

Gedas

P.S. consider upgrade of very old 10.00 to latest 10.30.

Re: HP NPS Files are pending and not processing

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.  We moved old files from the folder Final to a new folder, restarted services, rebooted the server too. Still of no use. Instead, another service is dead now.

Re: HP NPS Files are pending and not processing

Hi,

what errors are seen in perfspi.log?

did you moved *.csv.gz files from all relevant "final" folders   - Topology,, Metrics etc. at least:
/var/opt/OV/shared/nnm/databases/custompoller/export/final
/var/opt/OV/shared/perfSpi/datafiles/nps_baselinestate/final
/var/opt/OV/shared/perfSpi/datafiles/topoDump/final
/var/opt/OV/shared/perfSpi/datafiles/metric/final

best regards,
Gedas

Re: HP NPS Files are pending and not processing

I'm fairly new to the techonology, so couldn't understand the logs in perfspi.log. I however, did move the files from the Final folder. It current lies in the perfspi folder.

Hp-Hp bto-shared-perfspi.

Shall i move the folder out of this too? Also if you could help me understand the perfspi logs, that would be great.
