How to restrict OIDs during node discovery from NNMi side?

Dear Colleagues,

Cisco switch 6509 CPU reaches 100% when NNMi tries to discover it and every day NNMi poles it for discovery.

Cisco partner has suggested to restrict some OIDs during discovery or configuration polling.

Is this restriction feasible from NNMi side?

Thank you,

Rabee

Re: How to restrict OIDs during node discovery from NNMi side?

Thats unusual as I've been monitoring several hundred of them for quite a few years and havent seen any of that behavior.

What software version are you running for NNMi and what image for the Catalyst 6500 ?   What mode CatOS or IOS ? What cards and daughters to you have it populated with ?

The easiest method is implemeting a snmp cutdown view on the device side.

Have a nice day 🙂
