NNM9 not retrieving ifIpAddr
Hi all,
I have a problem with NNM9 running on Solaris 10.
After discovering my network, I'm not able to rerieve the IP Address information on any Interface form.
The only IP I can see, are those related to the management interfaces (used to seed the discovery too).
Any suggestion on this trouble?
Thanks in advance for the support,
Giovanni

Hello Giomucci ,
What do you see under "Inventory>Custom IP Addresses"? Is the form filled up with IP address information?

Hi Daniel,
thanks for your reply!
I checked the form and I found many Ip Addresses.
The strange behaviour consists in the fact that I can't retrieve the IP for interfaces on which is configured a Vlan...just the physical address.
Is there a way to solve this problem?

What you describe is not expected behavior from NNM (At least of of the box). Let's check to verify there isn't a configuration keeping NNM from discovering IP's outside of the management address.
Under "Discovery Configuration" > "Excluded IP Addresses" tab, what do you have populated in the form? Also check the "Excluded Interfaces" tab.
Thanks,
David

Hi David ( I apologize for the previous Daniel 🙂 ),
in the discovery configuration there are not exclusions (both IP and interfaces)...
what could I check?
Thanks,
Giovanni

It isn't normal NNM is not populating IP addresses for phisical interfaces.
You can check SNMP on one device using the nnmsnmpwalk.ovpl command and verify there are IP addresses being offered to NNM via SNMP.
Are you using the embedded database or external?
otherwise I would immediately open a support case with HP and see what they come up with.
Best Regards,
David

I have also faced the same issue for Bluecoat Devices and no solution yet.
