NNMI: Traffic iSPI not showing the correct license consumption for UNIX.

Hello Community

Sometimes Traffic SPI shows excessive consumption of Licenses. Interfaces not exporting flows at present are also getting license counted.

Here is the procedure to correct the license count and ensure the older interfaces which are not exporting flows any longer are deleted. Do this on the master server ---

1)      nmstrafficmasterstop.ovpl

2)      go to /opt/OV/nonOV/Postgres/bin

3)      psql -U trafficmastergres -d trafficmasterdb -c "truncate table trafficcapabilityentity CASCADE"

4)      nmstrafficmasterstart.ovpl

All your nodes which are exporting flows will start to come in to the views as master starts receiving data from them. This fix ensures that we start with a clean flow exporters table and thus older interfaces which had exported flows in the past but are not active flow exporters any longer do not get license counted.

Note:  It takes master sometime before it starts processing the data. Depending on the size of the object pool, it may take 15-20 minutes for master to format the memory and start processing flows, so the flow exporting nodes will not appear immediately in the view after start.
