Re: NNMI to integrate with Active Directory

Jeevitha,

The procedure is well documented in the Deployment Guide [ KM02208853  ].   However the steps are pretty straightforward

1) Configure the <NnmDataDir>/shared/nnm/conf/ldap.properties  file

2) Configure NNMi's user groups
either to point to the AD group Distinguished Name,
or create the user principles and indicate they are AD users and then include these in the NNMi Groups

A useful tip is to ensure you know the NNMi "system" user so that if you make a mistake you can still login to NNMi with Admin rights to correct things.

Once you have made any changess to the ldap.properties file, if you run the command "nnmldap.ovpl -reload" then the new configuration will be enabled.  You can enable and disable the integration by simply configuring the AD server name in the ldap.properties file - this is the one setting that controls this.   Another useful command for testing AD access is the "nnmldap.ovpl -diagnose <username>"  this will indicate if there are any problems or not.

However, do follow the deployment guide, this will step you through everything.

  All the best

Dave Y
