NNMi Interace Health with No Metric data

Hi ,

We are using NNM and ispi in same server ,we are able to get the reports for all the metrics except Interface Health ; We are stuck for Interface Health report untill 17/05/2017 and could not get report data after that ; where as other components are working fine .

in the NNM Dashboard we could not see the Interface Performance and Utilization details, but we can see the Interface status up to date ;

Could you help me on this to resolve ?

Hello Gowtham,

 

please check the following:

statusALL.ovpl

Have a look in the prspi.log file on your NPS server. Does it contain any WARN, ERROR or FATAL entries and are they related to Interface Health? When you scroll to the file, do you see any "unreadable" content?

Check if the final directory on the NNMi system contains old Interface Health files, that are not processed by the NPS.

There are more number of errors in the log file ; i am attaching you the log files . we see no Metric data under Interface health final folder .

Statusall.ovpl returns with all services up and running fine .

Things to check in sequence:

  1. Monitoring settings for the interface(es)
  2. Membership in the report group (parse the output file for the UUID if the interface(es)
  3. Existance in the topology dump file that the NPS uses to associate the metrics to a interface)
  4. Existance in the metric file dump (you might have to check up to 5-10 files since the default sweep period is 5 minutes to move the exported NNMI data to the ETL processes)

it seems that the files from NNMi are not processed:

 

Aug 11, 2017 01:31:07 AM [PID:-7004] INFO D:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP BTO Software\NNMPerformanceSPI\bin\Win32\..\prspiMain.ovpl[347] MainServiceLoop Backlogged Metric File Count - 2561 files, in H:/perfSpi/datafiles/metric/final

 

The count does not increase or decrease in your log file prspi.log over all the hours. But I cannot find any ERROR/WARN/FATAL entries. You should open a support case with HPE to analyze with them.
