(NNMi) Support Tip: Side effect of NNMi 10.20 Patch1 Installation on Traffic collocated scenario.

If NNMi is collocated with either the Traffic Master or the Traffic Leaf, installing NNMi 10.20 Patch1 can have a side effect on the Traffic deployment, such as not being able to open the NNM iSPI Performance for Traffic GUI from the NNMi console anymore due to exceptions occuring at the Master boot time preventing it from properly booting, reflected in the Master boot.log as:

 Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.hp.ov.nms.as.server.auth.NmsAuthConfigParser.parse(Ljava/io/File;)V

The root cause of the issue has been isolated and the following steps can be applied to resolve the problem.

NNMi 10.20 Patch1 updates the jar files nms-as-shared-ejb.jar and  nms-as-shared-lib-common.jar that are located in the following library path:

When the Traffic Master or the Traffic Leaf are collocated with NNMi, these are the jar files that need to be used by Traffic. To resolve the issue:

If the Traffic Master is collocated with NNMi:

  1.  Stop the Traffic Master using  nmstrafficmasterstop.ovpl
  2.  Remove these two files:
  3. Start the Traffic Master using nmstrafficmasterstart.ovpl

If the Traffic Leaf is collocated with NNMi:

  1. Stop the Traffic Leaf using nmstrafficleafstop.ovpl
  2. Remove these two files:
  3. Start the Traffic Leaf using nmstrafficleafstart.ovpl
