NNMi deletes Nodes

Hi

In some cases my NNMi deletes Node by itself. I can see the following entry in log: "Stop current node rediscovery because management IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has been moved to an unknown device. Deleting the node <hostename>!

What happend? In this case we had to replace a broken node. Rediscovey process just deleted old node and on next run discovered the new one (on same place with same credentials).

I do not like this very much because it can take quite a while between deleting and rediscovery. How can I stop that?

Re: NNMi deletes Nodes

Hello Christof,

I don't know what is the release of NNMi you have installed, but this problem is already solved in NNMi 9.10 patch3. If you have 9.10 and it is below patch3 please install the latest NNMi patch to solve this issue.

Hope this helps,

Inma

Re: NNMi deletes Nodes

Hello  Christof

There  are behaviors that a node can be deletedfrom the topology without any manual action , This can be caused  if you have enabled the following setting.

Configuration->Discovery configuration.

NNMi automatically deletes an unresponsive node using the following criteria:

The node does not respond to SNMP requests for the specified number of days.
All of the node's IP Addresses do not respond to ICMP for the specified number of days.

One of the following Conclusions must be associated with the Node.

  •     NodeUnmanageable
  •     NonSNMPNodeUnmanageable
  •     NodeDown
  •     NodeOrConnectionDown
  •     NonSNMPNodeUnresponsive
