NPS 9.2: backup and restore

As part of the changing IT-environment it's becoming more and more usual to remove "root" from the picture. HP has yet to adopt the new ways to operate environments, via sudo. The lastest problem I've had with this is when doing backup and restore on the NPS-server (Network Performance Server, SPI). Our installation is running on a RHEL6.2 OS and we have removed root as a part of maintaining the systems and use sudo for standard operations.

I recently had a case with HP regarding failing backups the simple resolution is that one needs to use a wrapperscript namely:
sudoWrapper.ovpl. On our server it resides in /opt/OV/NNMPerformanceSPI/bin/sudoWrapper.ovpl example command:

sudo /opt/OV/NNMPerformanceSPI/bin/sudoWrapper.ovpl statusALL.ovpl

This solved our issue when used with backup.ovpl, restore.ovpl

Hope this helps someone.
