Node Group Status

Attempting to monitor the status of a Node Group's status.

I want to have a node group monitored based on the percentage of nodes in either normal status or critical and major.

Basically, if a node group percentage is 50% major/critical it will create an incident or notification

Is there a way to either capture this data with Operation Orchestration or has anyone used an API to gather this data?

Re: Node Group Status

Hi there,

Looking at the documentation for the SDK on 10.30 I don't see a function that returns the nodegroup status.

Another approach is to query the DB directly.  The two tables you are interested in will be

1) nms_node_groups         columns:   uuid and name
2) nms_node_group_stat   columns:   uuid  and  cur_stat

The first will allow you to get the names and uuids of the node groups, the second will then allow you to get the current status of the node group using its uuid.    The values for cur_stat are:

0 - NoStatus
1 - Normal
2 - Disabled
3 - Unknown
4 - Warning
5 - Minor
6 - Major
7 - Critical

You could therefore set up a monitor on these values and trigger an incident as they change appropriately.

  All the best
