QA probes and Intelligent Response Agent

Looking to deploy the QA SPI to determine if Providers are meeting SLAs and also monitor site performance.  IF access to Cisco equipment is limited can we use Intelligent Response Agents deployed to servers at remote locations?  Is there any documnetation that descibes iRA client requirements?  Would Server automation be a tool for deploying and managing iRAs?
