SNMP Trap from an application

I have an application (Apropos) by ENGHOUSE.  It resides on a Windows server.  The application will send SNMP traps with info about the health of the application, status of services, etc.  I have the Windows server in NNMI.  I have the Apropos MIB loaded on the server.  When I stop a service I get a trap in the Trap.csv file.  I have a trap logging configuration created (at least I think I do)  I am unable to get a device status change to critical or an Incident created.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hello,

did the loaded MIB contain any TRAP-TYPE or NOTIFICATION-TYPE entries for SNMP trap definitions?

If yes, did you load these trap definitions after you loaded the MIB?

If yes, did you configured the SNMP trap configuration to be active in NNMi SNMP trap configuration?

If you have done this AND your "real" SNMP trap matches the configured SNMP trap definition AND the sending node is in NNMi (or you checked the box to allow NNMi to show configured SNMP traps from "unknown" nodes), then you should see the trap in "All Incidents".

But: out of the box you will not see a status color change of the affected node in NNMi as SNMP traps did not set any conclusion. If this is really requiered, you can use an action script in the SNMP trap configuration to set a custom conclusion via Web Service API on the node.
