Re: The NPS server was either too busy to process this request..

Have exactly same problem. The problem is in Sybase. Case 4650632092 is opened for more then a year. As a workaround:

%NPSDATADIR%/rconfig/NNMPerformanceSPI.cfg - put PRSPI_RESTART_DB        1

instead of 0 and restart whole NPS. So in case if DB by whatever reason goes down, its automatically restarted.

Re: The NPS server was either too busy to process this request..

Hello Frikkie

Thanks for posting,

Can you please check if you can find the following error on the perfspi.iqmsg file:

I. 08/25 23:37:46. 0000045476 **************************************************
I. 08/25 23:37:46. 0000045476 ***   Sybase IQ Abort:

I. 08/25 23:37:46. 0000045476 ***      PID: 10832
I. 08/25 23:37:46. 0000045476 ***      Message: Program Abort

I. 08/25 23:37:46. 0000045476 **************************************************

Also i would like to do the following change on your system:

1-  please verify the amount of RAM installed in your system.

2-  look for this file perfspi.cfg

Linux: $NPSDataDir/database/perfspi.cfg
Windows: %NPSDataDir%\database\perfspi.cfg

The combination of iqmc and iqtc should be less then 60% of total memory with more memory allocated to the Temporary Cache, as for instance 15% for iqmc and 85% for iqtc.

I recommend you to use the 50% of RAM for this change.

Then stopALL.ovpl and startALL.ovpl and let me know if the system is up and running.

Just to be clear you are going to assign the 85% for iqtc and 15% for iqmc of the 50% of RAM that you have,

Hope this helps,
