Unable to add licence dat file from the command line to the NNMI2019.05 software

Jump to solution

I am unable to add the license keys via the command line as I keep getting the following error - has anyone had a similar issue or know the root of the error?

Yes the user has local and domain admin rights to server.. This is not admin rights issue otherwise the user would not have been able to install or configure the software.

Maybe a silly question...

... Does the user has adminstrative rights?

If not I think he has no right to write to autopass.log and to the system part of the registry.

I just tested nnmlicense.ovpl as "normal" user and got an error message saying you need to be Administrator to run this tool.

On the other hand Error code 5 for root 0x80000002 points to missing rights towards the HKLM registry key tree.

I'm a bit confused.

Have you checked with regedit, if the mentioned Registry Keys exists? (HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\pdf\pdfilepath)

Hi Karsten

Those keys didn't exist in the registry. So I reverted back to your first reply about admin accounts.

I configured the software using a Enterprise Admin account, but have been told previously we can configure the software using a Domain Admin account apparently not the case. We can run the NNMi console and  install patches with a Domain account, but the initial software installation and adding licences only with a Enterprise Admin account.

Thanks for your help.
