UnresponsiveAgentInNode

Hi All

If particular node status says "UnresponsiveAgentInNode", what does it mean?

Does it mean that SNMP agent on the device is not responding or community string has been changed or any other issues.

Re: UnresponsiveAgentInNode

It means that given the communication parameters that have been configured for either that individual device or the communication region it resides in, the application is unable to communicate with that SNMP agent.   That could be routing, SNMP configuration mismatch (version, strings, etc), device down or a myriad of other things.

Andy

If we restart SNMP agent on the device, communication is fine and device is shown in normal status. But after next polling interval agent status becomes unresponsive, not sure why.

Is there any way to troubleshoot it through logs.

Re: UnresponsiveAgentInNode

The device logs you might be able to , but thats dependent on if you have the ability to add debugging as well as the processing power available.   From the NNMi application no. Only thing you would be able to do is to snmp walk it from the server and it'll work or it wont.
