after running nnmrestore nmsdbmgr stops working

Hello Experts,

we are installing nnm 9.20 with package =NNM920_00005 on a new server (windows server) in non-prod environment.now we are trying to restore all the configuration from an old backup for same version of NNM 9.20 running in production environment. after restore nnm services are not getting started. we are getting error in nmsdbmgr.

it is not starting with the error message "password failed for user "postgres".

 

Please suggest how to work on this issue.

You can try to change md5 to trust in file /var/opt/OV/shared/nnm/databases/Postgres/pg_hba.conf. After that you will be able to start nmsdbmgr process and change PostGres password with nnmchangeembdbpw.ovpl command. After password change completes, revert changes back in file pg_hba.conf to make it again md5.
