changing Hostname in NNMi 10.01

Dear All,

We are using NNMi 10.02 and would like to modiify the display name of few devices in NNMi map. Out of the box, NNMi displays Management name on the name.

Can we change it as per liking ?

Re: changing Hostname in NNMi 10.01

As I know, there is no ways to change the name display on NNMi Topology maps.

The name displays in Topology map is the Name of Node and even change the name of node manually is not possible.

You can find the following description about Name attribute (in Node Form ) in Online Help:

"The dynamically generated name assigned to this device.

The NNMi administrator configures how NNMi populates this attribute through two configuration settings: (1) The Node Name Resolution attributes in Discovery Configuration (full or short DNS name, full or short sysName, IP address). (2) The Name might be converted to all uppercase or all lowercase (depending on how the NNMi administrator configured settings in the nms-topology.properties file). See the "Modifying NNMi Normalization Properties" section of the HP Network Node Manager i Software Deployment Reference, which is available at: http://h20230.www2.hp.com/selfsolve/manuals.

This name is used in table views and maps.

Best Regards,
