iSPI Performance Metrics 10.20 Install on RHEL7 - System Time Zone Check

Unable to continue my install due the inability to pass the "Checking system time zone"  install check. The server is running RHE7, is configured using NTP synced with timezone UTC. Prior to starting the install I have set "TZ=UTC: and then "export TZ" for the current user. Every utility on the server outputs the time as UTC and not GMT yet I am unable to pass the install check. I have completed all "Install Checks" except "System Time Zone".

I finally figured out that the problem was with the following file.

/etc/profile.d/timezone.sh

export TZ="GMT"

Modify to have the folllowing line:

export TZ="UTC"

Hello Prestinb

Thanks for posting

Checking the requirements for the installation i have found the following:

Time zone

You must set the time zone to UTC or to a geographic time zone using /usr/bin/system-config-date.

Can you check the configuration there?

I have not used the system-config-date gui. I set everything using the follwoing:

timedatectl set-timezone UTC

timedatectl set-locale-rtc 0

Before running ./setup.bin , I set TZ=UTC and then export TZ. Every command I run displays the time in UTC yet the timezone check fails.

Does the system-config-date GUI set the time differently than timedatectl? What file is the NPS timezone checking during installation? This is still an issue that I am unable to accomplish.
