NV appliance in comparison with other NV products

The NV appliance is a hardware product that allows testers to attached many network devices.  Any traffic flowing into and out of the NV appliance can have its traffic effected via emulation parameters (ie, latency, packet loss, BW limitation, etc).

In order to have the NV appliance mimic other NV products, testers need to be careful about the BW limitation.  The BW limitation is set by using a Gateway object in Visio.  There should be one for each Client side (mainly for download limit) and one Gateway object for the Server side (mainly for upload limit).

When trying to mimic the NV for LR/PC, make sure that for each LG in the test, there should be at least one Endpoint (signifying the LG IP address) and one Gateway (limiting the LG bandwidth).  This will result in the same test result, since each LG is limited by the same BW as each Gateway.
