AFP and Cluster Resources

Hi,

I am working on getting my student clusters ready for Mac Access using
Kanaka which relies on AFP. We are running Netware 6.5sp6 and MAC OS
10.4.10.

I follow the instructions in the cluster config pdf to use AFPVOL.cfg to
give the volumes names that do not reference the server, so server.volume
"clustername.volume" for example. However the Mac's continue to see the
volumes as server.volume. I turned on logging in AFPTCP but do not get any
hints as to why this may be.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: AFP and Cluster Resources

What I have done at my clients is add a DNS A record pointing to the
resource IP. Users connect to the DNS name.

Re: AFP and Cluster Resources

Kris,

We saw something like this a few years ago. If you search the forum for posts by
me, you should find a thread from June 2005 that explains what I did. It may not
be the same issue, but there it is.

FWIW, to get this straightened out I had to open an incident with Novell. This
was their recommendation and it worked.

Re: AFP and Cluster Resources

Thanks for the fill in Tony.

This is what makes these forums great. People sharing their
experiences.
