APACHE: enabling users' own web pages from their home directories

I would like enable users to publish their own web pages, server is NW 6.5
sp4a. I made all according documentation, ie. created special user, gave
him rights to Home Directory Rights, Host Resuorce Name and Host Server
etc. Problem is that it works very weel only if user is created by C1 or
iManager (or maybe ice, did not try it). However all my users were created
by old tool, uimport. I think I should give to some object additional
rights (similiar to enable ssh/scp by giving rights to Public) - but whom
and what?

That's because mod_edir is searching for uniqueID, which is only populated
by default when creating a user with ConsoneOne or iManager. You can get
around this one at the expense of some possible unexpected behavior by
adding the following line to your config file:

hDirSearchAttr cn

This tells mod_edir to search on cn instead of uniqueID. The downside here
is that if you do have duplicate names in your tree, only the first one
will ever be returned and any others will never be able to have a web-page
from their home directory.

Thx a lot - I'll try it for a moment. I really have duplicated names
because of NFAP (CIFS) in domain mode - I must import users from NT domain
to get them acces to files, so accounts exist in another container but
names are the same.

If you set your search container right to not include the contailer with
the duped accounts, it SHOULD be OK. That's the 'hDirSearchContexts' key
phrase. Unfortunately there isn't a way to say "all but this one", so if
that container is below where the users are there will be problems.

On the other hand, if the CIFS users are peers of the container with all
the users in it, you should be good.
