Access to CIFS Share from different subnet

Hi all,

we are running a OES 2 SP3 Cluster with clustered CIFS Services enabled.
This System is running fine. If i try to use a such a CIFS Share from the
same subnet, where the Cluster resides, we can use it. If i move the same
workstation in a different subnet (without any restrictions on the network
layer), i cannot mount or use the share. The Workstation is running a fully
patched Windows 7 Pro x64.
The error message in the logs on Server are:
CIFS[9498]: WARNING: SESSION: Got an improper client here.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Alex

Hi Alex,

What network hardware do you have installed between the two subnets?

What is this registry key set to: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\RequireSecuritySignature (0 or 1) ?

Let us know.

Cheers,
Laura Buckley

Hi Laura,

the specified registry key shos 0.

We are using Cisco Switches with VLANs to seperate our networks. On the
relating Networks, no ACL´s are configured to restrict access.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

On the configuration of CIFS on your server, what have you set "SMB Signature" to?

Let us know.
