Adding NetWare 6.5 servers to NetWare 6.0 tree

I have two NetWare servers in one tree, one with SP5 and the other
with SP3. I would like to add two NetWare 6.5 servers to this existing
tree and then I will be clustering the two NetWare 6.5 servers.

Are there any concerns, preresequites, or ramifications that I should
be aware of?

Thanks!

Run the deployment wizard from the SP6 Overlay CD. It will tell you
what needs to be done.

You will need to apply nw6sp5 to the sp3 server, and you should apply
nw6nss5c to both.

"The deployment wizard"? Is that nwdeploy.exe? It needs to be run from
the SP6 CD for NetWare 6.5? Is the wizard then going to ask me if I am
joining an existing tree, and at that point it lets me know what needs
to be done? If the Schema needs to be updated in the NetWare 6.0 tree
is that an off hours operation?

Yes

Pretty much yes.

You can do it during work hours. Make sure DS is healthy first, but if
you are cautions, then you do it after 😉
