After Installing OES on servers, I now have a softrack OU

After Installing OES on servers, I now have a softrack OU for each server
that contains SOFTRACK_ADMIN object that is unknown. What is it and why is
it installed with OES? If a cut down version of SOFTTRACK, the software
licensing software? Is novell replacing their application license metering
(that hardly every works anymore) with it? Can I delete the objects from
the tree? Can I use some new functionality I'm not aware of?

Any suggestions please.
Thanks
Eric.

What "colour" is this Unknown object? (when viewed from NWAdmin or C1)

Re: After Installing OES on servers, I now have a softrack OU

OK,

I might have been misleading with the term 'unknown object'. It is an
object that there is no snap in for. A small cube with a question mark is
what the object look like in C1. The object class is SofTrack Administration.

But what is it? Why was it installed with OES, Do I need it?

Thanks
Eric.

From what I can tell, OES doesn't install SofTrack ... no one at your
office happened to have installed an eval of it?

it must have been installed before and you never noticed it or someone
has installed it since. i haven't seen a softtrack _anything_ in years
and have done plenty of OES (new isntallas and upgrades) this year....

Re: After Installing OES on servers, I now have a softrack OU

Thanks for the feedback. The objects have only appeared for servers just
recently updated to OES. I'm going to delete them. I haven't touched
softtrack for 5 years and we certainly don't have it here that I can find.
I'll just leave it as an unsolved mystery for now.

Regards
Eric.

about all you can do is look at the objects in dsbrowse and see what
the creation and modifcation timestamps say...
