Auto Logoff users after x-minutes of inactivity

Due to HIPPA regulations, we are looking for a way to automatically log
users off the NetWare servers after a specified period of inactivity. We
only want to clear the server connection, not log them out of Windows.
Currently, we are mandating the Windows screensaver requiring a password
after 15 minutes, but HIPPA wants the connection killed in order to protect
patient data.

I've Googled extensively but can't find anything recent.

Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks!

The client will reconnect with its cached credentials. The only
way is logging out of Windows.

You should really look at Single Sign On. I believe it will have what you
are looking for.

SSO won't kill the connection, merely lock the WS.

Re: Auto Logoff users after x-minutes of inactivity

HIPPA doesn't require this, this is a local interpretation of the regs.
As Edison says, client auto-reconnect will just reattach the users.
The Windows screensaver/login GINA is as secure as the rest of windows.
if you're trusting a windows pc, you can trust the screensaver.

besides, 15 minutes is too long since if you sit down in that time
period, the PC is 0wned. But a delay of 1 minute would have the users
in an uproar. In an ideal word, users would lock their PC manually
when ever they get up. And close out of patient files when they go to
lunch, etc...
