Auto purge options

I am looking at doing an auto purge of our heavily hit home directory
volumes and was wondering what options people are using.

Is toolbox purge supported on NW6.5? Does it purge from all the name
spaces?

I am also curious as to whether other people are doing this from the server
console or from a workstation using something like JRB utils?

I want to be able to purge deleted files older than 7 days and have that
either run each evening or once a week.

I had problems doing a purge from the workstation with JRB Purge as it would
cause the servers to run out of memory from searching through the thousands
of directories that we have on these volumes.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Mark

We already use Toolbox and purge on NW 6.5
loaded namespace: long

use:
purge <vol> -ad=7
to schedule this job you can use cron.nlm
(put this commandline in a ncf file and edit sys:system\crontab.dat
for example:
# Month Day Weekday HH MM command
* * 7 23 30 purge7.ncf
would purge every sunday 11:30 pm

I use a utility I wrote to automatically purge volumes 🙂
