Autologin/linking windows local user with a novell account
Hi All!
I have a question (and a problem 🙂 with a workstation. I have two users using the same computer, with a single novell account.
So, I would like to set up two novell accounts, but the problem is that I would like to avoid the "local window user" window
after making login into Novell network.
For example, if I have the user "user1" in Novell, I would like to after the password is accepted, this account is linked to the
local windows account "user1", and the same for the user2 (but without showing the window).
Is possible? Maybe via login script or something...
Thank you so much !!!!

Use the same passwords for the local and Novell accounts. There exists
the option to sync Win Password with Novell Password in the Client
Properties. The rest depends on the Client in use (4.91 for XP vs 2 for
Vista/Win7)

While W. Prindl's suggestion works in theory, it is probably not
practicable as you probably don't want both users have the same password
which they would not be allowed to change.
Another option might be to use the Windows autoadminlogin feature just for
the Windows account, but not for the Novell login. That would make the
windows login automatic while just requiring people to do the Novell login.
Finally, IMHO the best option would be to *not* make the 2 users share the
same local account. Instead, create 2 different local users with the same
name as the 2 user's Novell accounts. That way, each local account can be
password synchronized with the respective user's Novell password and only
one the double login would go away execpt for the first time where the
users would have to check the "set windows password to match the novell
password" option during login.
