CD/DVD setup: A list of *ALL* the available install parameters? Specify multiple parameters - howto?

Hi.

Up to now I now just these two:

[inst: spedir]
[inst: upgrade]

Are there other switches?

For a test system (nothing productive) I used [inst: upgrade], and the setup failed
at a quite early state.

At this point "C:\NWSERVER" wasn't filled properly. So another [inst: upgrade]
refused to proceed at some point, as it recognized that C:\NWSERVER\ wasn't valid
filled.

Q1:
Is there another parameter to *FORCE* an upgrade installation?

Q2:
How to specify more than one parameter at the same time? As this server wasn't
important at all, I filled c:\nwserver\ manually with the files from another
NW56.5.8 box running on identical hardware, then I tried this:

P
[inst: upgrade]
P
[inst: spedir]

The 2nd parameter was not required, as eDir 8.7 *WAS* installed, I just did so to
check, *IF* this would be the right way to specify multiple parameters.

And it is *NOT*: the parameter #1 wasn't effective any more, SYS: got deleted.
(didn't harm, as this was just a test installation)

Hi.

Answer to Q2 is: [Inst: param1 param2 param3]

Remains Q1 😉

Hi again.

Is there a list of all possible parameters? I imagine, that there is several more.

One might be to *FORCE* an upgrade, e.g. for the case, that C:\ was damaged -- then
there is no c:\nwserver\ to be found. The result is, that setup refuses to do an
upgrade after being started with parameter [inst: upgrade]

Just to come back to the list of parameters that can be used for [inst: ...]
I have not found any official information, but after some digging, I *assume* that these parameters are just passed to the ninstall.exe program and ninstall.exe has a help screen showing its command line options:

Install Parameters:
/? or /HELP - Help Screen
/BOOTCD - Force use of NetWare CD-ROM driver
/CONLOG - Activate CONLOG
/DEBUG - Activate DEBUG Messages
/FATSYS - Copy FAT SYS files and exit
/FRAME <frametype> - Frame Type for Network install
/IMAGE[=CD|HD|NET|UI] - Copy Image Files for full or
DOS (CD, HDD or Network) image, enable/disable UI
/LANG <id> - Server Language
/LOG <dos path> - Alternate Log File
/NOBAT - Set Default to No Modification of Autoexec.bat file
/NOCHECK - Skip Error Check
/NOLOG - Deactive CONLOG
/NOSERV - Do not Load Server
/RF=<file path> - Response File
/SERV_ID <id> - Server ID
/SERV=<parm+parm+...> - Server Parameters
/SPEDIR - Install the support pack version of eDir
/UPGRADE - Perform a down-server upgrade

Thanks a lot!

I'll have a closer look to the /nocheck option: Maybe it's deactivating the checking
for an existing c:\nwserver\*.* when using the [inst: upgrade] switch.

As TIDs sometimes disappear for the public:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
After completed NetWare 6.5 upgrade server still is in upgrade mode.

cause
Upgrade files not removed after completed server upgrade.

fact
NetWare 6.5

fix
Rename the C:\NWSERVER\CONFIG.NW file and C:\NWINST.TMP directory.
