CIFSd Auth errors
Windows 10 AD-integrated clients without the MicroFocus Client for Windows (MCW) are attempting to access (login) eDir servers (OES2018sp1) with the workstations computer name. This is generating a high volume of spam entries in /var/log/messages :
cifsd: ERROR: CODIR: SESLoggingIn: User: OKIT-CLWC100162$ not found, client: a.b.c.d, nwErr: -601, cifsErr: 0
cifsd: ERROR: NTLM_LIB: repl_authenticate: Error in authentication, major status: 655360, minor status: 13
The error does not seem to be due to trying to opein any volume/directory/file resource. Any clues as to why this is happening and how to stop it?
