Cache memory allocator out of available memory

Hi! All,

Recently we have been having a problems with 1 of our server.

22-05-2009 12:41:48 pm: SERVER-5.70-0 [nmID=6001D]
Cache memory allocator out of available memory.

22-05-2009 12:41:48 pm: SERVER-5.70-0 [nmID=2000A]
Short term memory allocator is out of memory.
2988524 attempts to get more memory failed.
request size in bytes 10956548 from Module DS.NLM

According to segstat.txt, DS.NLM is using most of the memory. Is this a DS problem?

Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

Could be, or then again not 🙂

I see you have NetWare 6.5 Support Pack 6, what patches beyond that have
you applied? Anyway, I'd suggest you apply SP7 or Sp8 as it has fixes
that might apply to your situation.

I'd rather guess this is a human error, as I strongly assume someone has
manually instructed DS to use that much memory.

But anyways, you seriously need to apply SP8 as Anders said.
