Client 4.92 SP2 and Universal Password

I'm implementing Universal password, but the "password hint" feature of the client does not work, even when hints are created. Can't this thing be disabled?

Re: Client 4.92 SP2 and Universal Password

TID about this problem here:
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?10099187.htm
Hasn't been updated since last October 😞

It's a scary idea to use nsimHint anyway, as it is cleartext. TID:
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?10092410.htm
Last updated April 2004 😞

For now an idea might be to use an LDIF to populate all users nsimHint attribute with some sort of text like "N/A" or "-IGNORE THIS-" or something to tell users to ignore it.

Re: Client 4.92 SP2 and Universal Password

Do you have eDir 8.8? eDir 8.7.3 does not have the proper attribute defined
in the schema for hints that require Challenge/Response. If you do not have
eDir 8.8, try un-checking the "Require Challenge Set" in the password policy
and see if hints work then.
